Dr. John McGinley is a retired professional meteorologist with over 30 years forecasting experience at NOAA and the Air Weather Service of the USAF. He holds BS, MS and PhD degrees in meteorology. He has been adjunct faculty at the Universities of Oklahoma, Colorado, Colorado State, and has given lectures at a number of universities. I have been sailing for over 40 years including a transatlantic passage and long journeys in the Caribbean. I am a member of a Colorado sailing club and have been an avid racer for many years.
John has taught the weather course for the Victoria Sailing School for six years. On occasion I have furnished weather information for their coastal and transoceanic journeys.
